No-Touching Rule Leads To Student Protests

Students attending classes at East Shore Middle School in Connecticut are protesting a new “no-touching” rule that prevents physical contact of any type. While the rule was intended to help prevent fish fights, its effect is stopping kids from being able to give high-fives, knuckles or from being able to hold hands.
To protest the rule, children are fighting back by wrapping themselves in blue duct tape. Edward Abbazia said that he admires his son for taking a stand.
“He is using his freedom as an American citizen to protest,” he said. “Those are the kind of people who get ahead in the world. We just told him to be polite about it.”
